Harry W. Brown, Jr. a lifelong resident of West Arlington, VT, passed away Sunday January 1, 2018 at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation. Harry was born in Arlington on April 25, 1929 the son of the late Harry W. and Etta (Sharkey) Brown .He attended Arlington schools, graduating from Arlington Memorial High School. Harry was a participant of the United States Army First Cavalry Division, 61st Field Artillery Battalion C battery as a forward observer during the Korean conflict. After his service he returned to start his family and worked various jobs before driving tractor trailer for Fairbanks Express for 32 years and was a teamster member of Local 294. He was also a member of Harned-Fowler VFW Post 6471 in Manchester and the American Legion Post 69 in Arlington. He enjoyed CB radio during its height, Korean conflict reunions with his brothers in arms and loved Notre Dame sports. He pitched horseshoes for a number of years and once had a try out for the Brooklyn Dodgers. He enjoyed old country music and spending time with his family. He is survived by his children Kendy Watson, Daryl Brown, Harry Brown III who lived a short 4 hours and Todd Brown of Arlington and his wife Mellissa and Dean Brown and his wife Joy of North Port, Fl, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn Brown whom he married August 15, 1953 in Manchester. Mrs. Brown passed on in 2001. He was also preceded in death by his ten siblings. At the request of the family funeral services will be private.
