Helen Jones

Helen Kelly Jones, a resident of Buck Hill Road, passed away January 4, 2017 at her home. Helen was born in Cloontia, Ireland on July 16, 1935 the daughter of the late James and Bridget (Durkin) Kelly and was educated in the Irish National Schools. Helen was a devout catholic and a member of St. Margaret Mary, Christ Our Savior Parish in Arlington. She served as a member of the Catholic Daughters, the Sodality and was a CCD teacher. For years she volunteered her time taking care of the elderly. Helen loved gardening, walking along the beach and listening to the sound of the ocean. She was a New England Patriot football fan, loved taking care of her home and cherished times spent with her family. She is survived by her children Robert Stephen Jones (Melissa) of Saunderstown, RI, Heather Maurice of Danvers, MA and Teresa Jones (Don Parsons) of Ogunquit, ME, brother John Kelly, sisters Mae Brennan, Nan Hallinan and Kathleen Ruane, all of Ireland, grandchildren Kelly O'Dea, and Emily and Ryan Jones and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert G. Jones whom she married November 10, 1960. Mr. Jones passed away January, 1971. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law Bruce Maurice and sister Bridget Kelly. A mass of Christian death and burial will be celebrated Saturday January 14, 2017 at 10am at St. Paul Catholic Church (Christ Our Savior Parish) in Manchester. Interment will be private. Visiting hours will be held Friday January 13, 2017 from 5-7pm at Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home Arlington Chapel Historic Route 7A, Arlington, VT.
