Jad Matthew Hoag

Jad Matthew Hoag 43 a resident of North Bennington passed away unexpectedly on Saturday May 15, 2021 in Bennington. Jad was born in Bennington on January 6, 1978, he was one of three sons of the late Jack Hoag and Jean (McSherry) Hoag . Jad grew up in Bennington where he graduated from Mt. Anthony Union High School in 1996 , during high school he attended the Career Development Center where he studied Building Trades. His high school studies set a foundation for his lifelong career in construction ,where he specialized in flooring installation, he was self employed for many years and worked as a sub-contractor for Breadloaf Construction. Jad loved to go hunting , attending the races at Lebanon Valley Speedway and listening to music. He leaves his mother Jean Hoag Shortt and step father Duane Shortt of North Bennington, brother Trever Hoag of Burlington, sister in law Erin Lemieux of Bennington, nephew Calvin Hoag of Bennington, step sister Kristen Towslee of Bennington ,step brother Duane M. Shortt of Shaftsbury, and many aunts , uncles and cousins. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a brother Kerry Hoag who died August 4, 2016. Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 20 at 1pm at the First Baptist Church of Bennington , burial will follow in the Hoag family lot in Hinsdillville Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from noon until 1pm for a time of visitation. Masks are mandatory for those attending the church services.
