James A. Squires, 41 a resident of Maple Hill Road in Arlington, VT, and formerly of Maine, passed away September 29, 2015 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. James was born in Bennington on August 28, 1974 the son of Keith and Donna (Young) Squires. He received his education in Arlington schools, graduating from Arlington Memorial High School and attended Castleton State College. James worked as a carpenter for many years. He enjoyed watching sports especially baseball and football and was an avid New York Mets and New England Patriot fan. He enjoyed fishing and listening to the music of Phish. James was a proud father and family man who cherished times spent with his children and family. James is survived by his parents Keith and Donna Squires of Arlington, his fiance Samantha Neal of Arlington and formerly of Maine, children Carter Squires, Kloee Petrin and Caitlin Hunnefield, maternal grandmother Alice Young of Arlington, brother Jeffrey Squires and his wife Crystal of New Ashford, Massachusetts and nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside funeral services for James will be held October 10, 2015 at 11am in Evergreen Cemetery in Arlington. A gathering will follow at the American Legion facility on East Arlington Road in Arlington. There are no visiting hours. If friends desire, memorial gifts in James's memory may be sent to Southwestern Vermont Regional Cancer Center Patient Resource Fund or the Arlington Nursing Association , c/o Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home Arlington Chapel P.O.
