Jane Petry

Jane Petry, 77, a resident of East Dorset, VT passed away January 1, 2022 at Albany Medical Center due to a sudden cardiac event. Jane was born in Glen Cove, NY on October 28, 1944 the daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy (Hyde) Reid. She attended school in Glen Cove, graduating from North Shore High School in Glen Head, NY. She spent her childhood summering in Spofford Lake, NH and vacationing at numerous lakes throughout New England. Jane’s love of family, friends, travel and being in the great outdoors led her to live in multiple states on both the east and west coasts. After moving to the west coast, Jane worked and enjoyed living in Southern California. In the 1990’s she pursued her passion in real estate and became a licensed realtor. After she retired from real estate in Las Vegas, NV, Jane moved to Vermont and began her retirement job working at the Vermont Country Store. Jane loved her walking groups, gardening, reading, and she had a broad interest in the performing arts. She especially enjoyed travelling with her family and friends whether abroad, or across the country. She cherished times spent with her family and always put others before herself. Jane is survived by her daughter Alison Reid Reynolds (Rob), her son Alec Andris Petry (Jennifer), her sister Margaret Reid Murray, her nephew Robert Reid (Mary), and her four grandchildren whom she adored. She is also survived by her extended family Bradley Fredella (Denise) and their daughter, life-long friends Tom and Penny Langan and many other friends across the country. There will be a visitation held on Monday, January 17, 2022 from 4pm-6pm at Brewster-Shea Funeral Home, 34 Park Place Manchester Center, VT.
