Jean Frances Pierce

Jean Frances Pierce, 96, a resident of Gore Road Park, passed away September 22, 2024 at home surrounded by her family. Jean a lifelong resident of Bennington was born April 29, 1928 the daughter of the late Russell M. and Jennie (Bushee) Pierce and attended Bennington schools. Jean worked at Fishman’s, E.Z. Mills, Tansitor and retired from Union Carbide after 26 years. Jean enjoyed solving word search puzzles, Facebook and old country music. She was a Boston Red Sox fan, enjoyed travelling to Maine and spending time with her family. Jean is survived by her children Brian Pierce of Bennington, David Pierce of Florida and Kim Berard and Terri (Gary) Hewitt both of Bennington, sisters Shirley Whittemore of South Paris, Maine and Barbara Rosenberg of Hoosick, NY, 8 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl Pierce, Sr in 1986 whom she married in Bennington April 25, 1947, sons Earl Pierce, Jr. in 1981 and Michael Pierce,  sisters Joan Browe and Linda Stratton ,  her brother Edward Cutler and son-in-law Mike Berard. Graveside funeral services for Jean will be held in White Chapel Cemetery on Saturday October 5, 2024 at 11:30am. A celebration of Life will follow at the Willow Road Fire House. There are no visiting hours. If friends desire, memorial gifts in Jean’s memory may be made to the Bennington Rescue Squad, c/o Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home P.O.
