Jesse D. Bush (Smith Jr.)

February 13, 1996 — February 28, 2024

Jesse D. Bush (Smith Jr.), a resident of Manchester passed away unexpectedly in his home in the early hours on Wednesday February 28, 2024, at the age of 28.

Jesse was born on February 13, 1996, in Springfield, Vt. The youngest child (first son) to Katie D. Bush. He grew up in Vermont as a child before moving west to Montana where he spent most of his childhood. He attended Fort Shaw Elementary and Simms Highschool where he was a “Mustang #48” before relocating back to Vermont to finish his high school diploma. He began his work career as an Arborist for Wise Oak before moving on and expanding his knowledge as a Painter taking on the role of Crew Leader for Luxbrush.

Jesse (Jimmy) was wise beyond his age and had a deep way of connecting to the people around him. He was a kind, quiet, and caring soul who loved his family and friends without question. He always listened without judgment, was humorous but shy, and was the light of the party even if he wanted to be on the sideline. He enjoyed hunting out west in Montana with his grandfather and uncles, listening to music, reading Manga/Anime, playing video games, fishing, and a card game any chance he got with his sisters and nephews. He was crowned the “king” at Bean Boozled where he never cared what flavor was coming next even if it was a bad one. He would always jump in and help cook at any family function or lend a hand to anyone in need. He was devoted to the care of his family, especially his late mother Katie. His contagious laugh and smile will be remembered in the lives he touched forever.

He is survived by his sisters Jennifer and Abigail Sherman from Manchester & Bennington VT as well as his half-sisters Jessica Smith and Erica Putnam from FL. His favorite nephews Cameron and Dominic Roy of Manchester. His grandmother Beverly A. Bush. His uncles Thomas Bush Jr. (Tara), Ethan Bush (Tammy Lynn), Ira Bush (Kari) and his aunt, Iona Reynolds (Mike). His cousins Emily, Christopher, Rebecca, Thomas, Tanner, Jacob, and Bella.  His “blood brother” from out west in Montana Brett Cuthbert and friends and work colleagues here in VT.

He is preceded in death by his mother Katie D. Bush and his grandfather Thomas Bush.
