John F. Girard, (87) a resident of North Adams passed away peacefully at Williamstown Commons on May 31. The son of the late Rosario Girard and Lucienne (Babeu) Girard, he was born in St Jean's Quebec on June 8, 1929. John had been a truck driver for most of his career, having worked at the former Hoosick Cotton Mill, Sprague Electric and Arnold Print Works. In his younger years he was an excellent golfer. He and his wife enjoyed travelling, (mostly to warmer climates), were avid movie fans and always enjoyed going for walks. He leaves his wife, the former Patricia Blanchard of Pownal, VT, daughters Jean Harvey(Larry) and Diane Collins (Brian) both of North Adams, Antoinette Hean (Trey) of East Hampton, and Renee Mullett (Sean) of Somers, CT: step daughters Susan LaMothe (Pastor James) of Pownal VT and Barbara Ayotte (Thomas) of Cheshire; grandchildren: Ryan Harvey, Jennifer Hohn, Carla McDonough, Kurt Collins, Michelle Racette, Nathan and Brandon Choquette, Ritchie Duquette, Sherry Girard, Joseph Duquette, Mark, Halley and Robert Moreau, Sharon Kerzner and Erika Novello; sisters Rita Arnold and Louise Bryant and brother Jacque Girard all of North Adams, many great grandchildren, nieces nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by daughters Jeannette Girard and Susan Bourdon and step son Henry Moreau. Services for John will be held at a later date. Burial will take place in Southview Cemetery in North Adams. Memorial gifts may be made to the Stamford Community Church at 1059 Main Road, Stamford,VT 05352 Services for John will be held at a later date. Burial will take place in Southview Cemetery in North Adams.
