John A. Mason

John A. Mason, 72, a resident of School Street, passed away August 2, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family. John was born in Bellows Falls, VT on September 12, 1951 the son of the late Perry and Katherine M. (Grover) Mason and attended local schools. John worked as a farm hand and for companies such as National Hanger and Whitten Construction. He loved hunting and fishing and taking his daughter Amber and son Michael to sporting events. John is survived by his wife Ruth L. Mason of Bennington, son Michael Mason of Bennington, daughter Amber M. Mason of Bennington, grandson Jacob A. Mason also of Bennington, his sister Donna Harris of Bennington, brother Donald Mason of Pownal, step daughter Donna Vandenburg of Texas, his son from his first marriage John A. Mason, Jr and his niece Jennie Towsley (Shawn) of Danby, VT. He was preceded in death by his brother Clifford L. Grover, his first wife Geraldine Mason, grandson Jonathan Peters and his granddaughter Kianna Peters. At the request of the family there are no formal funeral services.
