On Thursday, October 27, 2022, Joseph E. Farnum passed away at the age of 78 with family at his side in Lady Lake, Florida from complications associated with dementia. Joseph was born in 1944 in Bennington, Vermont to Edward and Virginia Farnum. Upon graduating from Burr & Burton Seminary high school, he joined the Army and served at a Missile Base in New Jersey. He then attended the University of Connecticut and earned a Masters Degree. He retired from Pratt & Whitney in Connecticut where he was Manager Inventory Control and Analysis. Joseph held a private pilot's license and loved flying his acrobatic airplane. He also enjoyed skiing, hiking, biking and sailing. He proudly supported and volunteered with the Special Olympics while in Connecticut. He was also lifetime member of the American Legion. Joseph was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his brother John Farnum of Punta Gorda, Fl, his sister Barbara Fournier and her husband Allen of Summerfield, FL, his brother James Farnum and his wife Robin of Middlebury, VT, his nephew J. W. Farnum and his wife Shannon and son Evan of Colchester, VT. Joseph is also survived by his former wife Beth Pendleton, her daughters, Casey and Mary, as well as his former wife Ann Farnum. A memorial service will be held at the Factory Point Cemetery in Manchester VT, the date to be determined at a later time.
