Joseph J. Sullivan Sullivan

Joseph J. Sullivan, 88 a resident of Butterfield Road in West Dover died February 4, 2015 at his home. Born in Tarrytown, NY on April 20, 1926, he was the son of Joseph and Mabel (Stroub) Sullivan. While living in New York, Joe had worked at MetLife, Mutual of Omaha, as a Real Estate agent in Scarsdale, he was floor manager for B. Altman’s in White Plains , Secretary for Hospital Director Edwin Salmon at New York Medical Center and owned Scarsdale Record Shop and Hobby Center. He moved to Vermont about 40 years ago where he perused a career as a chef. He had worked at The Sitzmark, Wilmington White House, The Old Barn , West Dover Inn , Dalem’s Chalet, Senator Clarey’s, Berkenhaus , Two Tannery and Marlboro College , retiring in 2008. He served as President of the Vermont Chef’s Association from 1985-1986. He leaves a brother George Sullivan and wife Terry of Pleasantville, NY, cousins Dolores Alles of West Dover, Catherine Kaufmann of West Dover, Maureen and Fred Bifulco of West Babylon, NY, Kevin and Anda Alles of West Babylon, Terence and Cecilia Alles of Goffstown, NH.Graveside funeral services will be held in the spring at Riverview Cemetery in Wilmington.
