Joyce Dix

Joyce M. Dix 74 a resdient of Glen Avenue passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday February 23, 2017 , she was surrounded by her family and companion George Tower.br/>The daughter of John and Vivian (Shippee) Birch, she was born in North Adams, MA on November 14, 1942. Joyce was a graduate of Drury High School, Class of 1960. She had worked at the former Readsboro Chair Shop until it closed and then at G.S. Precision from which she retired. br/>Her hobbies and interests include horses, fishing, dancing, bingo, spending time with family, traveling and going to her land and cooking out. She was a regular participant in the annual Green Up Day and was a member of the Readsboro Lions Club and Readsboro American Legion Auxiliary.She leaves her son David Jasper Dix III and his wife Wanda of Whitingham, daughters Jody Berard-Kemp and husband Les of Readsboro and Penny Dix of Whitingham, brother Daniel Birch and wife Joanne of Readsboro, sisters Donna Brewer and husband Larry of Readsboro and Cindy Gray of Brattleboro, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband David Japser Dix Jr on May 9, 1999 and oldest son Daniel Allen Dix on November 17, 2010. Funeral services will be held on March 11 at 11am at the Readsboro First Baptist Church with Reverend John Brigham officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Sadawga Cemetery in Whitingham. Memorial gifts may be made to the Readsboro First Baptist Church in care of the Covey Allen & Shea Funeral Home, P.O. Box 215, Wilmington, VT 05363. Funeral services will be held on March 11 at 11am at the Readsboro First Baptist Church with Reverend John Brigham officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Sadawga Cemetery in Whitingham.
