Laura Towslee

Laura A. Towslee, 78, a resident of Rogers Road, passed away October 31,2017 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. Laura was born in Dorset, VT on January 22, 1939 the daughter of Cecil and Nellie (Streeter) Twyne and attended local schools. Laura worked as a buyer and then personal secretary to owner Lee Perkins at Orvis for 33 years. Upon retirement Laura worked at Northshire Bookstore. Laura loved dancing, riding go-carts, snow mobiles and motorcycles. She was an avid reader and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and Sudoku. Her favorite movie was Dirty Dancing. She loved the music to her favorite movie and sounds of country music and Elvis Presley. She is survived by her husband of 60 years G. Richard (Dick Towslee) of Dorset whom she married June 15, 1957 in Dorset Church, children Glenn Towslee of Watertown, NY, Robin Owen and her husband Ron of East Rupert, Tammy Anderson and her significant other Walter Miller, Jr of South Dorset, Edwina Casey and her husband James of Westtown, NY and Cheryl Bierworth and her significant other Scott Whitney of Manchester, sisters Lottie Viggue of Tacoma, WA, Sally Tenzer and her husband Bob of Orwell, VT and Linda Wood of Granville, NY, ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services for Laura will be held Saturday November 11, 2017 at 2pm at Brewster-Shea Funeral Home 34 Park Place Manchester Center, VT. Interment will be private. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be held Friday November 10, 2017 from 5-7pm. If friends desire, memorial gifts in Laura's memory may be made to the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Fund, c/o Brewster-Shea Funeral Home P.O. Box 885 Manchester Center, VT 05255.
