Lee T. Lewis, 81 a former resident of Rutland passed away peacefully Tuesday September 8, 2015 at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington. Lee was born in West Rutland on March 10, 1934, he was one of 10 children born to Clarence and Dorothy (Taylor) Lewis. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. Lee married the former Marit Jensen in Fair Haven, MA on April 2, 1955. Before relocating to Rutland, they resided in Stafford Springs, CT where Lee worked as a Lab Technician in Research and Development at AMF Cuno. He enjoyed playing golf, repairing old cars and had rebuilt a boat to explore the Hudson River , a dream he never realized due to health issues.He leaves his wife Marit Lewis of Rutland, daughter Ann (Bales) Mostupanick and husband Robert of Rutland, sons Scott Lewis and wife Sharelyn of Spokane, WA, Mark Lewis of Clarendon, Keith Lewis of Warhead, MN, Brian Lewis of Springfield and Brad Lewis of Sand Lake, MI, brother Guy Lewis of Rutland, sisters Joan Whitney, Jean King, Marilyn Lenzillo and Carolyn Guyette all of Rutland, 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by brothers Clarence, Edward, Earl and Robert Lewis. Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 26 at 11am at the Four Chaplains All Faiths Chapel at the Vermont Veterans Home. Memorial gifts may be made to the Vermont Veterans Home Patient Activities Fund in care of the Hanson Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home, 213 West Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201. Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 26 at 11am at the Four Chaplains All Faiths Chapel at the Vermont Veterans Home.
