Lensey "Buzz" Lester Cole, 82, a resident of Corbat Road, passed away Saturday November 11, 2017 at his home. Buzz was born in Bennington, VT on September 23, 1935 the son of Albert and Margaret (Round) Cole and attended local schools. Throughout his life, Buzz worked as a stone mason, property caretaker, a lawn care business, school bus driver, and owner / operater Misty Mountain Lodge for over 43 years. Buzz served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict era. A former member of the Wilmington Lions Club and an accomplished singer, self-taught banjo and guitar player. He enjoyed motorcycling, mowing with his tractor, and traveling with his family. Buzz is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Berkhimer) Cole whom he married March 18, 1978 in Livingston, NJ, children Matthew Cole and his wife Laurie of Wilmington, L. Allen Cole and his wife Meredith of Colorado, Dana Cole and Susan Groesbeck of Arlington, VT, and Rebecca Sweeney and her husband David of Wilmington, brother-in-law Robert Perkins, sister-in-law Rosemary Cole seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Jean Pelletier who passed away June 18, 1971, brother Albert Cole and sisters Margaret Vancini and Thelma Perkins. A celebration of the life of Buzz Cole will be held Friday November 17, 2017 at 1pm at the West Dover Congregational Church. Interment will be private. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 5-7pm at Covey-Allen & Shea Funeral Home 44 East Main Street Wilmington, VT. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Buzz's memory may be made to the Guy Hawkins Cancer Fund, c/o Covey-Allen & Shea Funeral Home P.O. Box 215 Wilmington, VT 05363.
