Lin M. Hozempa (Johnson) of Newfane, Vt. passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 19, 2016 with her stepdaughter and son in-law by her side. She was born in Francestown, Nh. on January 23, 1950 to Earl M. Johnson and Marion L. Carlton and was one of five children. She was married to Raymond J. Hozempa Sr. who passed away May 26, 2010 and called Newfane their home since 1989. Lin had a successful career in Quality Control for various manufacturing companies. In her younger days Lin was often found riding her motorcycle all over New England. She was an avid reader, had a great sense of humor and was so friendly that no one was a stranger to her. She adored her cats, The Bum and Sadie. Before her illness she could often be found hiking through the woods or kayaking at local lakes. Lin was very passionate for all things in nature and graciously supported the World Wildlife Fund and National Wildlife Federation. Lin was a very loving stepmother and will be greatly missed by her beloved stepdaughter Michelle Haryasz and her husband Michael of Ludlow, Ma.; stepsons Raymond Hozempa Jr of Hampden, Ma., Sean Hozempa and his wife Tami of Chicopee, Ma., and Richard Hozempa of Panama City Beach, Fl.; six grandchildren, Hannah & Brett Haryasz, Holly Hozempa, Christopher Thibault, Sean and Thomas Hozempa; her brothers, Arthur Johnson and his wife Patricia of Winchester, Nh., Thomas Johnson of Westminster, Ma.; sister Arlene Rousseau and her husband Gary of Lewiston, Me; nieces Sara Leclerc and her husband Ryan, Jennifer Fountain, Stephanie Johnson and Laura Wallace; nephews Robert Rice, Michael Cardinal and Thomas Johnson Jr. . Lin is predeceased by her parents, sister Mabel Tindle and niece Deborah WallaceLin will be greatly missed by her close friends Gigi and Dan Brown, Patricia Brown and Joanne Brown. She wished to express her gratitude to Dr. Maurice Geurts and staff at Grace Cottage Hospital for all they have done for her throughout the years. A special thank you to Bayada Hospice for their services and kindness.At Lin's request she asks that you celebrate her life by being respectful of the Earth and its wildlife.
