Lucille Marie Holton

February 12, 1934 — January 13, 2025

Lucille Marie Holton, 90,  formerly of Arlington VT.  passed away January 13, 2025 at  SVMC in Bennington. Lucille was born in Granville, NY February 12, 1934 the daughter of the late Silas and Florence (Letcher) Towne and attended local schools. Lucille married Frederic Holton, Jan 6 1951. Together they had 6 children. Richard(Brenda), Donald (Carol), Stanley, Ted(Dolores), Kathleen Hill (Micheal). Lucille worked in the local area for many years including  Mack Molding, Bromley, Avalanche, Wilburton Inn, and Chauncy’s until she was 88. She was very proud to be a Norman Rockwell Model for the 1947 edition of the Saturday Evening Post “The Babysitter”. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 69 and the Eagles Auxiliary in Manchester. She enjoyed going to Elks bingo with her dearest friends Anita, Rose, Pauletta. loved going to casinos, playing cards, family gatherings, time with her grandchildren and great -great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frederic,  children Donald, David, Carol, Brenda, and her siblings Florence Hess, Doris Cole, Fran Hayes, Gladys Pike, Henry Towne, Harry Towne. She is survived by Richard, Stan, Ted, Kathleen ( Mike),grandchildren: Angela Denoncourt (Ray), Christina Holton, Michael Holton,Ted Holton ll, Samantha Ackert Holton (Lou), Emily Holton Bacon, Justin Holton, Mazie Clay,  (Curtis), Tyler Hayes, Jessica Hill Grover (John), Jeremie Hill (Jackie), Jason Hill (Darcy) and Jacinda Betit(Jon), great grandchildren: Valerie, Louis, Camden, Kailey, Riley, Landon, Logan, Lydia, Sophia , Beckett, Kynlee, Robert, Johnny, Wyatt, Delilah, Ethan, Bennett, Nathaniel, Justin, Tucker, Jax, 2 great-great grandchildren Fletcher and Carter White. Her sister Evelyn Tobin, Loving nieces, Nephews

Funeral services for Lucille will be held Saturday February 22, 2025 at 11am at Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home Arlington Chapel Historic Route 7A Arlington, VT. Reception to follow at the American Legion in Arlington. There are no visiting hours. If friends desire, memorial gifts in Lucille’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the American Legion Post 69 Arlington, c/o Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home Arlington Chapel P.O.
