Margaret E. Chase

Margaret E. Chase, 76, a resident of Higley Hill Road, passed away July 9th, 2023 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT. Margaret was born in Ashfield, Massachusetts on December 11, 1946, the daughter of the late David and Margaret (Finlay) Broadwell. She attended schools in Massachusetts graduating from Sanderson Academy and attended Community College. She worked at Dot’s Restaurant for the Sparrow Family as a waitress and then as a housekeeper for many years before going into retail as a clerk for many years retiring in 2017. She enjoyed watching television, politics, and playing video games on her phone. In her, earlier years was an avid reader. Margaret is survived by her children Vicki Haggerty of Wilmington, James E. Chase (Anna) of East Dover, VT step-children Robert E. Chase (Janice) of Middletown, CT, and Cheryl Chase of Virginia Beach, VA, her brother Raymond Broadwell of Petersburgh, NY, sisters Mary Ann Johnson (Art) of Petersburgh and Jessie Morgan of Union Maine, grandchildren Andrew, Chloe, Ashley, Kate, and Nate and nieces, nephews and cousins.
