Marguerite Mary (Nalette) Ghosh

Marguerite Mary (Nalette) Ghosh was a caring and generous wife,mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Though she left this world on May 31, 2021 at home surrounded by her family, her memory will remain. Maggie, 72, a resident of Bennington, VT was born to the late Raymond and Rosemary (Jemery) Nalette, in Winsted, CT on November 3, 1948. Maggie worked as a nurse in CT, NY,NJ, and VT for decades. Maggie,a caring and generous woman, always loved to help others. From her many years of nursing to helping build a school in India, lending a helping hand was second nature to her. Family and friends were central in her life and becoming a grandmother was her most cherished role. Coming from a big family and strong community, she was always the key party planner, family reunion organizer, vibrant storyteller, and always inclusive. Her adventurous and open spirit led her to travel the world with her family and friends. She derived great pleasure in reading, movies, musicals, and all music. She could be found country line dancing, swimming in Cape Cod ponds, or with her treasured friends. Christmas was her favorite time of the year when she filled the home with decorations, music, friends, parties, and plenty of scrumptious cookies. Maggie created a welcoming and supportive environment for both friends and newcomers. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Dr. Manindra Ghosh of Bennington, VT, her daughter Melanie Mala Ghosh, son Ashoke Ghosh (Erica), brother-in-law Soumitra “Pintu” Ghosh, sister Demerise McGrane (James), brother Douglas Nalette (Pam), sister-in-law Shanta Ghosh, brother-in-law Ashoke Ghosh (Cindi), beloved nieces and nephews, extended family of Nayabasat, India, and countless loving friends. She will be dearly missed by her precious grandchildren Maya Ghosh, Nayan Brainerd-Ghosh, and Avi Ghosh. Please join the family in Bennington, VT to honor Maggie. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be held Sunday June 6, 2021 from 2-4pm where the family will be in attendance. A mass and burial will be celebrated Monday June 7, 2021at 11am at Sacred Heart-St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the family lot in Parklawn Cemetery.
