Marianne Stone 3/29/1941 - 1/3/ 2023
Marianne Ross Stone was a passionate seamstress and an active force for goodness her whole life. She spent 20 years volunteering for The Thrifty Attic in Londonderry. She made the selfless decision 10 years ago to devote herself to caring for her husband Roger because of his increasing visual challenges. They loved to travel especially in the Winter and got as far as New Zealand.
Marianne is survived by her husband, Roger, and her daughter Lisa Durfee of Hudson, NY, She had two sisters Margaret Ross, Janet Ross and a brother Alexander Ross who between them had 11 grandchildren. She loved them all, and was always on Facebook with them as well as her extended circle of family and friends.
In the Spring there will be a Celebration of Life held at the home she shared for 40 years with her first husband Fred Kantor. Any donations for Marianne should be made to the Winhall Arts Center at 3 River Road in Winhall, Vermont.
The Clock of Life
Robert H. Smith
The clock of life is wound but once
And no man has the power
To tell just where the hands will stop,
At late or early hour.
To lose one's wealth is sad indeed,
To lose one's health is more.
To lose one's soul is such a loss,
As no man can restore.
The present only is our own,
Live, love, toil with a will.
Place no faith in 'tomorrow'
For the clock may then be still
