Marion Irene Stroffoleno, 99, a resident of Andrews Lane, passed away May 27, 2016 at Rivers Edge Community Care Home in Bennington. A lifelong resident of Arlington, Irene was born on December 11, 1916 the daughter of the late Leonard and Olive Christine (Fleck) Whitman and attended local schools. Irene worked as a mill worker for Mack Molding for many years and sold Avon products for over forty-five years. She enjoyed gambling, playing bingo and loved feeding birds. She was a member of the American Legion Post 69 Auxiliary for 52 years and cherished times spent with her family. She is survived by her daughter Christina Woodcock and her husband Robert of Sandgate , son James Stroffoleno and his wife Carol of East Arlington and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband James Louis Stroffoleno and daughter Marie Wood, 2 sisters and 1 brother. Funeral services for Irene will be held Monday June 6, 2016 at noon at Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home Arlington Chapel Historic Route 7A Arlington, VT. Interment will follow in the family lot in Evergreen Cemetery. A visiting hour at the funeral home will proceed the service from 11-12pm. If friends desire, memorial gifts in Irene's memory may be sent to the American Heart Association or the American Legion Post 69 Auxiliary, c/o Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home Arlington Chapel P.O.
