Marjorie Louise Carrier, 93 a longtime resident of Burrington Hill Road passed away peacefully on Sunday July 9, 2017 at Bennington Health and Rehabilitation. The daughter of Joseph C. and Roxie Mae (Bernard) Williams, she was born at home in Whitingham on June 28, 1924. Marjorie grew up in Whitingham and attended the old #6 Whitingham School House. She was married to Francis Carrier on July 24, 1976, he passed away on October 26, 2003. Marjorie's home and family kept her occupied with needlework, crocheting, bird watching and singing with her family. She leaves nieces and nephews including her great nieces Wendy Birch and Rhonda Rafus both of Whitingham, great nephews Jason Williams of Whitingham , Jerome Carrier of Sarasota, FL and Brian Williams of Arcadia, FL, nieces Betty Wilder of Turners Falls, MA, Cheryl Scott of Readsboro and Jolene Mahon of West Dover and nephew John Carrier. She was predeceased by her siblings Helen Bird and Walter Williams, nephews Walter and Harold Williams and niece Heidi Hume. Funeral services will be held at the Covey Allen & Shea Funeral Home on Saturday July 15 at 2:30 pm with Reverend L. Douglas LaPlante officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Francis in the Cutting Cemetery . Friends may call at the Covey Allen & Shea Funeral Home on Friday from 6-8pm when the family will be present. Memorial gifts may be made to the Ladies Benevolent Society in care of Covey Allen & Shea Funeral Home, P.O. Box 215, Wilmington, VT 05363.
