Mary Jean Pearce

d. February 16, 2018

Mary Jean Pearce, 67, of Danby, died unexpectedly on Friday, February 16, 2018, at Albany Medical Center surrounded by family. She was born on December 22, 1950, in South Wallingford, Vermont, the daughter of Charles and Alice (Ploof) Rist. Mary attended Wallingford schools. Mary retired from the Lenny Burke Farm in Wallingford after over 22 years as an LNA caregiver of traumatic brain injury patients. She was a faithful member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Danby, St. Patrick's Church in Wallingford, and St. Paul's Catholic Church in Manchester. Mary was full of life with wise words for all. She was a woman of many talents, from woodworking and crafts, to flower arrangements, and putting together unusual ingredients to make a delicious meal big enough to feed her large and extended family. She enjoyed vacationing at the seacoast of Maine with her husband and two dogs (Oscar and Libby). Everyone who was blessed to have met or been around Mary immediately felt her kind and generous spirit. She was a mother to all. Mary was predeceased by her mother and father; and her brother, John Rist. She is survived by her husband, Paul, of 52 years; her sister, Ellen Fredrick; her sister-in-law, Deb Rist; and her four children: Paula (CG), Steve (Rhonda), Richard (Sonce), and Daniel (Tracy). She was blessed with 11 grandchildren: Dale, Kent, Aurora, Samantha, Tyler, Tierra, Hayden, Quinton, Jacob, Cassie, and Joe. She was also blessed with two great-grandchildren Kamara and Wolfe; as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews, and extended family. Services will be private
