May Isaac, nee Mary Howie McKain, passed away peacefully one month shy of her 99th birthday. She was a beloved mother to Barbara and Joe O'Donnell, grandmother to Mark, Marybeth, Kerry, Burke and Scott, and great grandmother to Baily, Hugh, Nora, Nick, Alastriona and Aislinn. Mary was an avid volunteer to numerous community organizations, including: The Manchester Health Center Thrift Shop, The Southern Vermont Arts Center and The Manchester Congregational Church. She received Vermont's Senior Volunteer of the Year Award and she was also featured on Vermont TV as a "Super Senior." After moving from Clydebank, Scotland, May lived in Elizabeth New Jersey, where she met her future husband Howard. Before moving to Manchester, Vermont in 1992, her other residences included Shrewsbury, New Jersey, Birmingham, Michigan, Winnetka, Illinois, and Darien, Connecticut. In keeping with her wishes there will be a private family service. Her ashes will be spread in the hills and vales of her native Scotland. Donations in her memory would be welcome at the Peru Congregational Church and Manchester Health Services. In keeping with her wishes there will be a private family service.
