Mildred Powers

Mildred Powers, 98, passed away on November 30, 2015 at Mountain View Center in Rutland, VT.Millie attended Danby schools and graduated from Wallingford High School in 1934. She attended hairdressing school in Albany, NY for two years and operated her own beauty shop in Danby for a short time. She also was a talented seamstress. She was a member of RSVP in Rutland.Survivors include two sons, Henry R. (Pete) and his wife Mary of Danby and Francis A. (Fran) and his wife Jean of Pawlet, four grandsons, Michael and David Powers of Danby, Christopher Powers of Granville, NY and Richard Powers of Southington, CT, eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Millie was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 43 years, a brother, Edward Raiche, sisters, Elizabeth McGurn, Anna Bowen, Gertrude Cain, Irene Knauer and Veronica Harrington.A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 4th at 11:00 AM at Saint Patrick's Church in Wallingford, VT.Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 pm on December 3rd at Brewster & Shea Funeral home 34 Park Place Manchester, VT.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Manchester Rescue Squad, c/o Brewster & Shea Funeral Home P.O.
