Mildred Alta Woodcock, 88, passed away January 6, 2018 at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington. Mildred was born in Pawlet, VT on April 2, 1929 the daughter of the late Daniel and Alta (Hart) Wade and attended Dorset schools. She worked at J.K. Adams in her earlier years and also for Manchester Wood both in Manchester and Granville, NY. Mildred enjoyed knitting, crocheting, animals, word search and cross word puzzles. She was a country music fan of Josh Turner and Box Car Willy and cherished raising three generations of her family. Mildred is survived by her daughter Christine Moffit of South Dorset, sisters Janice Washburn and Linda Giles both of New Hampshire, grandchildren Cynthia McKune and Susan Moffit and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Norman Woodcock whom she married September 28, 1946 in Dorset and her grand daughter Brenda Kerson. A visiting hour from 5-6pm will be held Tuesday January 16, 2018 at Brewster-Shea Funeral Home 34 Park Place Manchester Center, VT. Interment will be announced later in the spring. If friends desire, memorial gifts in Mildred's memory may be made to the Second Chance Animal Shelter, c/o Brewster-Shea Funeral Home P.O. 885 Manchester Center, VT 05255. A visiting hour from 5-6pm will be held Tuesday January 16, 2018 at Brewster-Shea Funeral Home 34 Park Place Manchester Center, VT. Interment will be announced later in the spring.
