Nancy Webb Maker, 84, a resident of The Meadows, passed away February 11, 2018 at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington. Nancy was born in Providence, RI on March 21, 1939 the daughter of the late Philip T. Maker and A. Thelma Hopkins. She graduated from Northfield Mount Herman School in Northfield, MA in 1951, Received her Bachelor from Brown University in Providence Rhode Island in 1955 and her Masters in Kindergarten Education from Wheelock College in Brookline, MA in 1968. Nancy was a Kindergarten Teacher and also worked as a Unit Coordinator in in the hospital ICU Department of UVM and Massachusetts General Hospital. Nancy was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority, majored in creative writing, and was an avid reader especially of Authors Jane Austen and John Updike. Nancy also endeavored in many artistic pursuits. She is survived by her sister Myra Maker Houghton of Manchester Center, nephew Geoffrey Franklin of Kentfield, CA and many cousins. Graveside funeral services for Nancy will be held in Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington and will be announced at a later date. There are no visiting hours. If friends desire, memorial gifts in Nancy's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, c/o Brewster-Shea Funeral Home P.O. Box 885 Manchester Center, VT 05255. The family has entrusted arrangements to the care of Brewster-Shea Funeral Home 34 Park Place Manchester Center, VT. Graveside funeral services for Nancy will be held in Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington and will be announced at a later date. There are no visiting hours.
