Natalie Jean Hyland, 92, formerly of Putnam Street passed away peacefully April 27, 2017 at Iriquios Nursing Home in Jamesville, NY. Natalie was born in Rutland, VT on June 29, 1924 the daughter of the late Russell Hyland and Lorena Hill. She attended Rutland schools, graduating from Rutland High School, then graduating Nursing Training at the Putnam School of Nursing. Jean worked as an LPN at Putnam Hospital which is now Southwestern Vermont Medical Center for nearly 50 years. She was an avid swimmer and enjoyed her swimming at the recreation Center for many years. She was a member of the National LPN Association and in her younger years was very proficient in equestrian events. She leaves behind her niece Karen Booraem and her husband Jonathan of Harwich, MA, great nieces Kimberly Ettori and Daynia Dodd, cousins Kimlee Butterfield Olsen and Bronwyn Butterfield Warren. She was preceded in death by her sister Margaret H. Nelson. Funeral services will be held at Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home 213 West Main Street Bennington, VT and will be announced at a later date. Interment will be held in the family lot in Evergreen Cemetery in Rutland, VT. There are no visiting hours. If friends desire, memorial gifts in Natalie's memory may be made to the Second Chance Animal Shelter, c/o Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home P.O. Box 957 Bennington, VT 05201.
