Nina Fersen

April 13, 1925 — January 4, 2022

Nina Fersen 96, a long-time resident of Pownal and Bennington passed away peacefully at Brookdale at Fillmore Pond in Bennington on Tuesday morning January 4, 2022. The daughter of John and Nina (Rastegaey) Kostin, she was born in San Francisco on April 13, 1925. Over the years she was a jewelry maker, worked for Williams College and was an auditor for the Town of Pownal. For many years, she was on the board of directors and served as secretary for the Bennington Center for Restorative Justice. She is survived by her step son Paul Fersen of Centerville, MA and her nephew Robert Kosten of Sebastopol, CA along with three grandchildren, one great grandchild, one grand-nephew and one great grand-nephew. She will be interred privately in The Williamstown College Cemetery with her husband Nicholas who was a professor at the college.
