Pamela Blair, 73, a resident of Mesa, Arizona, passed away July 22, at her home. Pamela was born in Bennington, VT on December 5, 1949 the daughter of the late Edgar and Geraldine (Cummings) Blair. She graduated from Arlington Memorial High School and from the National Ballet Academy in New York City. Pamela’s career on Broadway included A Few Good Men, The Nerd: King of Hearts, The Best Little Whore House in Texas, Of Mice and Men, Sugar, Seesaw and the original “Val” in A Chorus Line. She appeared on television for The Cosby Show, Loving and Law and Order and in movies Annie and Svengalli. She was awarded the Theater World Award for her Broadway performance in A Chorus Line, the Drama Desk Award for her performance in The Best Little Whore House in Texas and a daytime Emmy for her performance in All My Children. Pamela loved all animals especially her cats. She is survived by her sister Cheryl Hard (Jeff) of Newburn, NC, her niece Jennifer Mac. She was predeceased by her nephew Brian Hard. Graveside funeral services for Pamela will be held Saturday August 12, 2023 at 1pm in St. Columban’s Cemetery in Arlington where she will be laid to rest with her mother Geraldine Blair.
