Paul Joseph Bruno

Paul Joseph Bruno, 75, a resident of South Ryder Pond Road, passed away February 23, 2016 at his home. Paul was born in Providence, Rhode Island on August 17, 1940 the son of the late Paul Carmine and Anna Judith (DeCaporale) Bruno. Paul received his early education in the Bristol school system, graduated from and earning his Bachelor Degree from Bridgeport University, in CT, and his Masters Degree from Slippery Rock University, in PA. Paul started his football coaching and teaching career in Woodbridge, New Jersey and then coached and studied for his Masters Degree at Slippery Rock University. Paul became a Professor at Slippery Rock where he taught Physical Education and Recreation. Paul enjoyed sailing, skiing and was an avid New York Yankee baseball fan. He had a passion for sports and cherished times spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. Paul is survived by his wife, the former Donna Sellick of Whitingham whom he married August 22, 1964 in Middletown, New Jersey, their son Paul Barret Bruno and his wife Kristine of Macomb, MI, their daughter Tracy Hunt and her husband Tim of Wilmington, VT and their grandchildren Connor Paul Hunt, Caitlin Marie Hunt, Alexis Margaret Bruno and Delani Anna Bruno. He was preceded in death by his brother Russell Anthony Bruno, of Cranston, R.I. Funeral services for Paul will be held Tuesday March 1, 2016 at 11:30am at Covey & Allen Funeral Home 44 East Main Street Wilmington, VT. Interment will be private. There are no visiting hours.
