Paul C Wilcox

Paul was born in Arlington, Vermont, son of Cecil O. Wilcox and Lula Hoyt Wilcox. He grew up in Sandgate and West Arlington, and attended the Arlington schools, and graduated from Arlington Memorial High School. He went into the U.S. Navy after high school graduation. Upon returning home, he married Ellen Bell from Manchester, Vermont in 1958. He was employed by Orlando Cullinan and the Arlington school district, then moved to Manchester where he was employed by the Manchester school district and Herbert Bell. He then started his own business, including lawn and snow maintenance and estate checking. During his life, Paul was a member of the Arlington Fire Department, the Manchester Fire Department, and both the Arlington and Manchester Lions Club. He participated in the Little League programs and was an avid fisherman, hunter, and loved baseball. He loved to call it “pasture baseball”. He was talented enough to receive a letter from the St. Louis Cardinals but declined the offer. In later years, he was content following his grandchildren in their extra-curricular events. This was a very special time for him. He loved all his nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is survived by his wife, Ellen, of 64 years, his three children (Paul, Scott, and Jennifer), nine grandchildren (Ben, Kait, Brooke, Hunter, Corrie, Amelia, Lydia, Josh, and Mary), and three great grandchildren (Callen, Zoey, and Everett). He so loved, and was greatly loved, by his family and will be sorely missed. Visitation for Paul will be held at Brewster-Shea Funeral Services on Thursday, May 5th from 4 to 8pm.
