Philip G Hardgrove, 87, of West Halifax Vermont, passed away peacefully, Saturday May 26th 2018, surrounded by the people he loved most, his family. He was born January 24th 1931 in Caribou Maine. He traveled from Maine to Vermont at 14 years old to work for Frank Stone's sawmill in Halifax. He then worked at Kendall Mills in Colrain MA for 38 years and also did many side jobs like delivering milk and delivering mail. In his later years after retiring, he stayed busy with rental properties and enjoying winters in Florida with his wife, Regina, of 70 years. His second love was gardening, flowers, yard sales, flea markets, coin collecting and collecting watches. He leaves behind his loving wife, Regina Hardgrove, two sons, Philip Hardgrove of Halifax, Mark Hardgrove of Greenfield MA, and two daughters Rhonda Ashcraft of Halifax and Deb Sprague of Jacksonville. He also leaves behind the last two living siblings, Leslie "Dee" Hardgrove of Brunswick ME, and Harriet Jacobs of CT. He leaves behind many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Baystate Medical Center of Greenfield MA Intensive Care Unit and in his words, "if you can help someone in need, pay it forward." At the request of his wishes, no calling hours or services will be held. His remains will be scattered amongst his homestead in West Halifax.
