Ralph B. Truesdale, 91, a resident of Sudbury, MA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Marlboro Hills Health Care. The son of George and Grace (Downs) Truesdale; he was born in Somerville on April 22, 1926. Ralph was a World War II Air Force Veteran. He earned his BS in Business Administration from Suffolk University. He went on to become the President of Abington Inc., a textile machinery business. Prior to that he was the Treasurer at Atkinson, Haserick & Company for 18 years. Ralph was an outdoorsman and an avid skier and tennis player. He enjoyed playing golf, gardening and woodworking. He was musically talented and jazz was his favorite music genre. Ralph was a sports enthusiast who coached and mentored many young athletes in youth sports. He especially loved watching the Bruins, Patriots and Red Sox. Ralph was predeceased by his wife Marilyn (Crafts) to whom he was married for 55 years. He was the beloved father of his daughters and sons in law Sally and David Sullivan of Madison, CT, Jama and James Young III of Vero Beach, FL, and Kimberly and Kevin Tuttle of Marlboro, MA. He was the beloved grandfather to Carol Sullivan of Framingham, MA, Kristin (Patrick) McCarthy of Chepachet, RI, Michael Sullivan of Guilford, CT, Barre (David) Hardy of Hamburg, Germany and Lindsay (Scott) Reardon IV of Darien, CT. He was the beloved great grandfather to Kelsey Sullivan, Declan McCarthy, Blake and Cade Hardy and Scott and Riley Reardon. Malli was his cherished ball playing pal and companion. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also predeceased by his son E. Bradford Truesdale, brother Richard Truesdale and sister Janet MacLaughlin. Ralph will be laid to rest next to his wife at the Mountain View Cemetery in West Dover, Vermont. Graveside services will be held in the spring. Memorial gifts may be made to The Brad Truesdale Fund at Old South Church of Boston through the Covey Allen & Shea Funeral Home, P.O. Box 215, Wilmington, VT 05363. Graveside services will be held in the spring.
