Raymond Lee King

Raymond Lee King, 80, a resident of Benmont Ave, passed away July 9, 2015 at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation. Ray was born in Salem, NY on February 11, 1935 the son of Charles G. and Bessie (Caldwell) King and attended local schools. Ray worked on several area farms in Salem and the Fort Ann, NY area. He also worked for the Nancy Shoe Company in Hoosick Falls, the Pownal Tannery, Globe Union and Stanley Tools. He was a member of the United States Army, Fraternal Order of Eagles 1861 and enjoyed wood working and repairing lawn mowers. Ray is survived by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his companion of thirty years Marjorie Bevins who died May, 2010, brother Harold King and sisters Shirley Hull, Ethel Oldham and Dorothy Huntoon. Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday July 12, 2015 at 10am in the family lot in Woodlands Cemetery in Cambridge. There are no visiting hours.
