Rexford W. Hill, 65 a resident of Rich Heights passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday September 10, 2015 in the company of his loving wife , Ginny. Rex was born in Bennington on January 21, 1950, he was the son of the late Douglas and Joan (Dewey) Hill , he attended schools in Woodford and Bennington, and was a 1968 graduate of Mt. Anthony Union High School. A Vietnam Veteran, He joined the US Navy in 1970 which led him to a lifelong career, he retired on May 1, 1990 as a Cryptologic Technician. Rex had been a member of the American Legion Post 13 and had been involved with the Big Brother Program in Maryland and Vermont. He enjoyed outdoor sports including hunting, fishing, swimming and camping. He also enjoyed bowling, shooting pool and watching sports. Rex is survived by his wife Ginnylee (Legacy) Hill of North Bennington, brother Douglas E. Hill Jr. of Bennington, sisters Juanita Moffitt of Manchester and Debra Bleau of Bennington, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.Funeral services with Military Honors will be held on Wednesday September 16 at 11am at the Grandview Cemetery . There are no calling hours. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Lung Association in care of the Hanson Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home, 213 West Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
