Richard D. Jolivette, 92, of Portsmouth, NH died peacefully September 25, 2021. Richard was born and raised in Bennington, VT. He was the son of the late Kenneth C. and Marion (Towslee) Jolivette Sr. Richard is survived by daughters Kathleen (Jolivette) Clark and Jennifer (Jolivette) Almeida, five grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his wife Jane (Clark) Jolivette, son Jeffrey Clark Jolivette, brothers Kenneth, Donald and Eugene, his sister Thelma (Jolivette) Coley and his second wife Edith (Schulze) Dewey. He was a graduate of the former Bennington High School, class of 1947. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. In earlier years, Richard (aka Dick), brother Don, and Kenneth Sr. owned and operated D&D Jolivette Electric in Bennington. Later, Richard continued to work as a master electrician, real estate agent and broker in Bennington and on the seacoast of New Hampshire. In his retirement, he enjoyed working in a small hardware store in Mariposa, CA. Mr. Jolivette was a member of Rotary International for decades. He served as President and District Governor while a member of the Bennington Rotary. He was also very involved in the Hampton, NH and Ventura, CA clubs. Through his many years, Richard enjoyed playing football, basketball, fishing, archery and coaching pee wee football. He was very fond of playing cards and as of late he was on quite the lucky streak. He loved to sing and was an accomplished yodeler who shared these gifts on long car rides through the mountains of Vermont. There will be no service or calling hours and a private burial will be held for the family at Park Lawn Cemetery.
