Richard A. King

Richard A. King, 87, a resident of Buck Hill Road, passed away June 27, 2021 at his home. Richard was born in West Arlington, VT on July 6, 1934, the son of the late Samuel and Louise Millington King. He attended Arlington schools and Cambridge, NY High School. Richard worked as a carpenter for many years, many of those years self-employed. After retirement from carpentry, Richard went on to work several years at Mack Molding. Dick loved hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Free & Accepted Masons, the Lions Club for 30 years, American Legion Past Commander, a member of the Arlington Fire Company for 50 years and former Chief, Arlington Rescue Squad for 30 years, Arlington Selectman for 12 years and a member of the Romeos. Richard is survived by his children Debbie Mears of Arlington, Diane King of Sunderland, Ronald King and his wife Marilyn of St. Albans, Donna Ennis of Sunderland and Denise Mathieu of Sunderland and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Beverly (Weeks) King, daughter Darlene Melvin, brothers Phil and Stanley King and sisters Betsy Quinn and Patricia Alden. Graveside funeral services for Richard will be held Saturday July 3, 2021 at 11am at Ira Allen Cemetery in Sunderland. There are no visiting hours.
