Richard A. Knecht

Richard A. Knecht, 85, a resident of Homestead Greene, passed away February 27, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving wife and 2 daughters. Richard was born in Bridgeport, CT on April 21, 1938 the son of the late Rodney and Alice (Whitney) Knecht. Richard loved cooking, fishing, golf and playing poker. Richard is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years Judy (Michnich) Knecht of North Bennington, daughters Karen Mera (Vic), Kelly Valdez (Chris) and Kerry Knecht O’Connor and significant other Dan Russell, 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, step-father George Lamb, brothers David and William and his nephew David, Jr. Graveside committal prayers will be private and held at a later date. There are no visiting hours.
