Robert Burgess

Bob Burgess, who just turned 62, died too young and unexpectedly of a brain aneurysm on January 16, 2022. His family and many friends are grieving the loss of this extraordinary man. Bob loved Vermont and Vermont loved him back. More than the beauty of the Green Mountains, he loved Vermonters and their grit and kindness which mirrored his own. He would move a sofa for a neighbor in zero degree weather without a second thought. He always had time to chat, give comfort, and share his quick wit. Everyone was welcome in the Burgess home. Through his perseverance and entrepreneurial spirit he built Burgess Estate Sales with his beloved wife Vicki. Bob’s generosity is in the DNA of that business, through which he helped people make the transitions in their lives with kindness and respect. But more than any of these things, he loved his family, including its furry member Fenway. He was a devoted father who never missed a dance competition or concert and always said the best thing he ever did in life was to be David and Catherine’s Dad.
