Robert D. Valentine

Robert D. Valentine, 95, of Brookdale at Filmore Pond, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2015. He was born in Hartford, CT on June 15, 1920. Bob was a real estate developer in the Manchester, CT area and was also a motel owner and realtor in Lakeville, CT before moving to Bennington, VT in 1985 with his former wife, RoseMary Latif Valentine. Bob loved to buy and renovate houses and also enjoyed travelling and flying planes. He is survived by his daughter Bonnie V. Eggleston, his step-son Gregory Moore and wife Randi, grandchildren Todd and Chad Sparling and Ian and Rebecca Moore, great-grandchild Benjamin Sparling and former wife and close friend RoseMary L. Valentine and partner James Azzoline. Bob was predeceased by his parents Harry and Grace Valentine, his brother William and his first wife Esther. The family and friends of Bob wish to thank everyone at Brookdale at Filmore Pond and to VNA and Hospice for the attentive and loving care he received, especially in his last days. At the family's request, there will be no services. Anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution in Bob's name can send a donation to the Filmore Pond Staff Holiday Fund or to Hanson, Walbridge and Shea to help defray funeral costs. At the family's request, there will be no services.
