Robert J. Gottardi, Sr

Robert J. Gottardi, Sr., a resident of Main Street, passed away June 15, 2015 at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington. Robert was born in Readsboro on January 11, 1935 the son of Joseph and Izola (Berard) Gottardi and attended Readsboro schools. Robert worked for Deerfield Glassine for many years and the Town of Readsboro Public Works Department. Robert was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriot fan. He enjoyed working around his house and enjoyed times spent with his family. Robert is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years Brenda Gottardi of Readsboro, whom he married in Wilmington on February 9, 1959, son Robert J. Gottardi, Jr. of Readsboro, brother Leonard Gottardi and his wife Lynn of Readsboro, grandchildren Joshua, Trevor and Tyler Gottardi and great grandchild Mickenna Gottardi. He was preceded in death by his sons Layne and Duane Gottardi, brother Arnold Gottardi and sister Natalie Worden. At the request of the family funeral services will be private.
