Born in New York City September 19, 1926, the second of four sons and one daughter to Carl and Beatrice Limbacher of Eastchester, NY. After suffering an extensive stroke, he died at age 90 on May 1, 2017 at Albany Medical Center, Albany, NY. Having served in the Navy 1944 – 1946, he graduated from Bucknell University in 1949, majoring in commerce and finance. Bob and his brothers operated the family business, Limbacher Paint and Color Works, (LIMCO), in Mt. Vernon, NY. Later he ran the W.H. Kemp Co. in Stamford, CT. In 1977 he and his wife Joann moved from New York to Dorset, VT where he started his own business, ROLCO Labs. An avid golfer, Bob was a member of Whippoorwill Country Club, Armonk, NY, Dorset Field Club, Dorset, VT, and Manchester Country Club, Manchester, VT. He served as president of Dorset Field Club 1979-1981. In addition to golfing, he earned his pilot's license, and enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling, and paddle tennis. He was also a member of the Corn Exchange and served on the board of the Dorset Village Library. He was preceded in death by his son Kurt in 2009, his brothers Carl, Richard, and Wally, and survived by his wife Joann Golden, daughters Muffy (Karl) Gawell, Jane (Mike) Brown and sister Linda (John) Thompson, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the United Church of Dorset on Saturday, May 20, at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to RAVNA Dorset Nursing Association, Rescue Squad-Manchester, Dorset Library, or United Church of Dorset and East Rupert, c/o Brewster-Shea Funeral Service P.O. Boc 885 Manchester Center, VT 05255. A memorial service will be held at the United Church of Dorset on Saturday, May 20, at 11 am.
