Robert F. Parker, 88, a resident of Woodford Road, passed away Sunday September 18, 2016 at his home. Robert was born in Bennington on January 3, 1928 the son of the late Frank and Rose (Simoneau). Robert enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps and served his country as a Technical Sergeant during WWII. In his earlier years Robert worked as a short order cook for many area restaurants and later worked as a machinist at Bijur Lubrication for over 42 years. Robert married the love of his life Marion (Bleau) Parker in Arlington VT. in 1949. They were married for 63 years and had twin daughters Virginia and Shannon in 1951. Together they enjoyed raising their children, traveling and working on their home. He was preceded in death by his wife Marion Parker who died August 27, 2013. Robert enjoyed building model airplanes, restoring classic automobiles and in his earlier years hunting and fishing. He was a big CNN News fan, loved animals, was an advocate for the SPCA and cherished times spent with his family. Robert is survived by his daughters Virginia Loomis (Dennis) of Bennington and Shannon Day (Jody) of Bristol, Maine, grandchildren Patrick Loomis, Kristian Wager, Renee Lauzon, Nicholette Lauzon, Jennifer Klemp and 4 great grandchildren. SERVICES: At the request of the family funeral services will be private. There are no visiting hours.
