It is with great sadness that I let you know that our wonderful father Bob Sawyer passed away on Wednesday.
For those that knew him or those that heard stories about him knew he was a force in this world. A teacher. A coach. A motivator. A role model. A builder. A friend to so many. A father figure to the town where he taught and coached thousands of kids. He was an amazing Dad and an awesome Grandad. He was the love of my mom’s life’s and she, his true love & they made a beautiful team. They are together again in heaven. I know he so wanted to be with her again.
He leaves behind his footprints and lasting impressions on this world and on all of us. He is someone who proves this is a small world as his impact on people was far reaching.
I continue to strive to impact and coach others like he did for me, my brothers, my kids and all of my friends from Kinnelon, college and beyond. Every time I talked to him he was so excited to hear about Aidan and McKenna’s sporting and school endeavors &
adventures. Providing positive reinforcement and offering up coaching suggestions.
Those that he coached know he was sometimes hard on us all as he knew what potential we all had inside that we just needed to find the courage and confidence to take hold of and unleash. I know he helped cultivate so many of the characteristics that we see in ourselves now as adults……so as many of you read this, who have been touched by my Dads life, think back and reflect so fondly of all the coaching he gave, smile at the memories and laugh at the absolutely amazing and crazy stories that you have about my Dad.
Carry on his words of wisdom and use his fun & silly saying so that generations to come will know the words of Bob Sawyer!
Dad, I love you beyond words. I know you are with Mom now and hope you did our silly Sawyer-Camp family handshake when you saw her again. I will forever feel your big hugs and will take your wisdom & caring ways and continue to pass it forward.
