Roger E. Wilcox

Roger E. Wilcox, 60 a resident of Route 346 passed away peacefully at home on Monday March 9, 2015 in the company of his loving family. The son of Harry W. Wilcox and Florence Ruth (Young) Jones he was born in Bennington on February 16, 1955. He attended schools in Pownal and Bennington. Roger enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 1972 , he was injured while on active duty thus ending his military career. He returned to Pownal where he worked as a dog handler at Green Mountain Race Track, for many years he had been self employed as a carpenter.Roger enjoyed hunting, fishing and family get togethers, he was a member of the Pownal American Legion and a former member of the Pownal Fire Department .He leaves his mother and step father Florence "Midge" and Tom Jones of Pownal, sons Jason Wilcox of West Virginia and Josh Wilcox of Ohio, step brother Patrick Jones of Bennington, step sisters Chrystal Moffitt of Peru and Sherrie Jones of Florida, brother in law Stanley Kimball of Pownal, his daughter and granddaugter Kelley and Abiagal Rich, friends Doug Wilcox of Bennington, Stanley Darling of Pownal and neighbors Shannon and Darcie Prudence. He was predeceased by a sister Pamela Kimball on June 21, 2014.
