Ronald W. Casey

Ronald W. Casey, 61, a resident of Bonnet Street, passed away July 4, 2016 at Rutland Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family. Ron was born in Granville, NY on May 3, 1955 the son of Richard and Evelyn (Balch) Casey. He attended schools in Manchester graduating from Burr & Burton Seminary. Ron worked for the State Highway Department District 1 for over twenty years and while working for the highway department and following retirement, Ron owned and operated Casey Property Maintenance for over thirty years. Ron loved driving his race car in the dirt modified series and loved watching and following any kind of racing. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Riding snowmobiles and 4-wheeling. He loved the outdoors, listening to country western music and the bagpipes. His true love in life was spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Ron is survived by his sons, Jeremy Casey (Cassie) of West Rupert and Ryan Casey (Malisa) of Manchester Center, mother Evelyn Casey of Dorset, brother Alan Casey of Dorset, sisters Barbara Bishoff (Dave) of Florida and Nancy Hoyt (Larry) of Manchester, grandchildren Regan, Gabe, Tucker, Cameron and Ethan and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ron was preceded in death by his wife Cheryl whom he married in South Londonderry, VT on May 26, 1979. Cheryl passed away November 23, 2011. He was also preceded in death by his father Richard Casey and brother James Casey. Graveside funeral services for Ron will be held Tuesday July 12, 2016 at 1pm in Dellwood Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Friday evening July 8, 2016 at Brewster-Shea Funeral Service 34 Park Place Manchester Center, VT from 6-8pm when the family will be in attendance. If friends desire, memorial gifts in Ron's memory may be made to the Manchester Rescue Squad or the VFW Harned-Fowler Post 6471 in Manchester, c/o Brewster-Shea Funeral Service P.O. Box 885 Manchester Center, VT 05255. Graveside funeral services for Ron will be held Tuesday July 12, 2016 at 1pm in Dellwood Cemetery.
