Rose Boudreau

July 17, 1926 — February 19, 2022

On February 19, 2022 Rose Boudreau passed away peacefully at her home in Manchester, Vermont at the age of 95. Rose was born on July 17, 1926 in a taxi on the way to the hospital in Chicago. Her parents, Edgar and Ida Leblanc, who predeceased her, moved back to New Brunswick, Canada during the Great Depression. In a small church in Barachois, New Brunswick,Rose, a devout Catholic saw her husband to be, Emery Boudreau, singing in the choir. Emery wanted to marry Rose when they were in their late teens but Rose insisted they would marry when she was 21 years of age. Rose and Emery moved to Massachusetts and then Connecticut where they raised five children, Rachel, who predeceased her, Claudet, Bernard, Marc and Gregory, who survive her death. Rose is survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and was predeceased by her great-grandchild, Phoenix. Rose’s husband, Emery predeceased her. Rose’s siblings, Jerard, Joseph, Frieda, and Geraldine predeceased her and her brother Roger survives her death. Over the years there were countless family gatherings at Rose’s home where her dishes like chicken stew, spaghetti and meatballs and apple pie were enjoyed. Rose was a talented seamstress who as a young lady sewed uniforms for the Canadian Military. She continued sewing many of her children’s clothes when they were young. Sewing turned into a lifelong hobby of working with her hands making beautiful quilts, knitted blankets, sweaters, hats and more for her children and grandchildren. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, that help local families that are in need of assistance. A private service for Rose will be held at a later date.
