Ruby Bendig

Ruby Mae Bendig, 90, a resident of South Londonderry, passed away May 6, 2018 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. Ruby was born in Andover, VT on July 17, 1927 the daughter of the late Harry and Gladys Horton Derby and attended school in Andover and South Londonderry. Ruby worked as a chambermaid in local motels such as the Wiley Inn in Peru and the Colonial House in Weston. She also worked in the Woolen Mill in South Londonderry for many years and made Christmas wreaths for the holidays. Ruby loved her plants and flower garden. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, spending time with her beloved dog Amber and cherished times spent with her family. Ruby is survived by her son Edward Bendig and his wife Wanda of South Londonderry, grandchild Michele Wyman and her significant other Nate Hale, great grandchildren Felicia Bowen and her husband Hunter and Ashley Wyman, great-great grandchild Mason Bowen, her former grandson-in-law Greg Wyman and her dog Amber. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Bendig whom she married January 2, 1946 in South Londonderry. Graveside funeral services for Ruby will be held Friday May 11, 2018 at 11am at Riverside Cemetery in Londonderry. There are no visiting hours.
