Shane Adrian Fressola

Shane Adrian Fressola, 49, a resident of Chapel Road, passed away April 6, 2024 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center following a brief illness. Shane was born in Bennington on March 10, 1975 the son of Michael and Dawn (Grusendorf) Fressola. Shane attended Bennington schools, graduating from MT. Anthony Union High School, class of 1993. Shane was raised in Pownal and was a junior member of the Pownal Rural Fire Department. He was employed for the last 26 years at the Beverage Smokers Den where he was so knowledgeable about the merchandise. Early on Shane earned the moniker of “The Beer Guy”. Shane was all about the great outdoors with a love of nature. He loved hiking, exploring, camping and kayaking. He set up trail cameras to get videos of moose and to capture the beauty of the remote places he had reached. He respected the earth and would pick up litter he found along his way. Shane was a laid back and cool person. From the earliest days he was a light that people gravitated to. If you had the pleasure of having a conversation with him, you would always walk away feeling good and possibly with a smile on your face.  If wealth were gauged by friends, then Shane was a very rich young man. Shane is survived by is parents Michael Fressola of Pownal and his mother Dawn and her spouse Michelle Poirier of Pownal, Brother Jerry Fressola of Bennington his former wife and best friend Sophia Garder, several aunts, uncles, cousins and a core group of friends who he treasured. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Lyle and Eva Grusendorf and Jerry and Flora Fressola and his daughter Evangeline. A celebration of life for Shane will be held Saturday April 20, 2024 at 11am at Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home 213 West Main Street Bennington, VT. Interment will be private. There are no visiting hours.
